The People's Ledger

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

We don't collect personal data

The People's Ledger has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It doesn't ask for your location, contacts, photos or any other permission.

What stays on your phone

Anything you enter in the app, such as your answers on the Compare screen or a search, stays on your phone and isn't sent anywhere.

Updated election data

So that official information such as candidate lists and results can be updated quickly, the app downloads a data file from this website, which is hosted by GitHub Pages. Like any website, GitHub may record technical details of that request, such as your IP address, under GitHub's privacy statement. The request carries nothing about you or how you use the app.

Official websites

When you tap a source, bill or map, it opens on the official website (for example aph.gov.au, legislation.gov.au or vec.vic.gov.au) inside the app's browser. Those websites have their own privacy policies.

Children

The app contains public parliamentary and electoral information and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions: contact us.
